Overview

The form for registration for Religious Education in the 2020-2021 school year is now available on our website and via e-mail.

Our program is for all children between grades 1 through 8. We also have courses available for children completing sacraments up until 10th grade.

Currently (summer of 2020), we are uncertain of how we will conduct our programs due to the pandemic, but I encourage you to register regardless of how we will proceed in the fall. This will allow me to prepare materials, classrooms, and arrange for volunteers to assist if we can conduct live classes. We will comply with all health regulations in Nassau County and the guidelines according to the Diocese of Rockville Centre. This may involve online classes or limited class size, infrared temperature taking, monitoring of hall traffic to maintain safe distances between children and adults, and routines of handwashing. When we receive instructions for any new procedures, they will be available on this page.

The religious education prepares children and youth to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Holy Eucharist, and Confirmation. It also instructs children and youth in the teachings of the church, so that they may grow in faith and defend the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Volunteer teams work with children and youth in all of our programs. All volunteers undergo training and background checks in order to participate in ministry for the welfare and protection of our students.

In addition to religious education and Sacramental preparation, we hope to invite children by grade to attend our Sunday Mass at 10:30 am every week.
